There are times in life that prompt us to stop and reflect. Job changes, moving cities, losing someone close to you, the birth of a child, or the end of a calendar year. Whether you’re consciously making a big change or something happened to you that you’re having to process, these times for reflection are so important. They allow us to take stock of our lives at critical junctures and to consider where we go next.
While these major moments are when we often find ourselves making the time to stop and reflect, intentional reflection in our “day to day” is just as important. How do we take stock of our lives when there isn’t anything particularly noteworthy happening? What does our status-quo look like? And are we happy with that?
Reflecting on your past not only helps you understand how far you’ve come, but also to personally define and measure your own success...because the only measuring stick that truly matters is your own! It’s important to make time to sit with yourself to set goals for what you want your future to look like. While it sounds simple, it can be hard to carve that time out in our busy lives and give that process the attention it deserves.
As you might have guessed, December’s theme at RISE St. Louis is Reflection + Goal Setting. Not only is it timely in the last month of the year, it is also especially appropriate for our community as RISE continues its expansion process in Denver. We invite you to ask yourself along with us: What have I achieved and what have I been through this year? Where do I want to go?
This month, our workshops focus on sparking that reflective energy and initiating the goal setting processes. Join us December 6th, 12th, and 18th for workshops led by RISE members, for RISE members. If you’re a member, head over to the Member Portal for more information and to RSVP.
